Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and sometimes stylized with uppercase letters as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, came out in May 2015 on Decca Records to great approval of bloggers in the music industry and media. Half the World Away - by the Oasis - for John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole have already been two notable covers that the artist has done. Katy Perry's endorsement of her song Runaway in a blog post added to the musician's appreciation. Enjoy her day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding an old grand piano hidden in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her what it could do. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music, not for work or for a passion and as a way to improve. Her parents inspired her to write. Her inspirations include famous writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as her love of Bjork's style. Her mother had said that her songs could not only help her achieve fame but also make others see their importance within the global community and see what can be done with her songs She decided to start singing in public. At age 6, she began to play the piano. At age nine, she began writing her own songs. She didn't tell her family about her music until she reached 14. Aurora wasn't a dream. The singer says that she simply likes writing music. For her, the music she composes is how she feels about any thing.
