Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' debut female singer with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October of 2016, Ari Lennox released her EP Pho. The EP was where she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first posted songs online in the year 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 with the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound and the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. On July 21 2015 she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her send her songs for the Dreamville Team in the following year because he was hoping for Rihanna to collaborate with her on some references. The official signing ceremony was held with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat is one of the songs she co-wrote with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. She released Pho, her debut EP on October 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and was an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two songs with her labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. The music video then released in September. Her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. Two additional singles were also released by her on 11/13 with the titles Pedigree and One. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16th, and released the song as a solo single on the album she released her debut. In February 2019 the video music for the song was released. It has had more than 3 million YouTube views in just one week. In December of 2018 she performed on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
