Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani as well as a Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist who is currently fighting at flyweight in the UFC. She is the younger sister of the former UFC Flyweight champion and fellow UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko first began fighting sports by becoming an Muay Thai kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut at her first IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals by unanimous vote. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007 and a medal of bronze in 2008 and then a gold in the year 2011. She was also crowned IFMA World Amateur Muaythai Champion in 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia began her professional journey back in 2003. She has taken home numerous championships, including the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships, Lion Fight Lightweight Championships, as well as the WMC as well as Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's final fight was with Isa Tiedblad Keskikangas, who was fighting at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by a unanimous vote. Following the league's dissolution in 2018, Shevchenko joined Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko knocked out Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina used her superior strike skills and striking skills to TKO Nievera in the clinch with knees and body. Following this victory Antonina was given a UFC contract. Antonina was offered an UFC contract following her win. Shevchenko took the win by unanimous decision, but she lost her next fight against Roxanne Modafferi by split decision. Antonina recovered from the loss to beat Lucie Pudilova with a back-naked choke submission in the second round UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned an extra fight in the evening for this bout. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her subsequent three bouts. She defeated Ariane Lipski, but fell to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina lost her last fight to Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
